BELL was contracted by TDOT to replace the outdated and inefficient cloverleaf interchange that required interstate traffic to use single-lane, low speed ramps in order to continue on to I-55. For greater traffic efficiency on I-55, two new flyover bridges for I-55 were built along with a multi-lane round-about to connect I-55 to Crump Boulevard and the surrounding areas. In addition, 2,400 LF of noise barrier was built to mitigate impact to the historic French Fort neighborhood to the southwest.
