About Corsair Distillery – Marathon:
In 2008, Corsair Distillery was founded in Bowling Green, KY by two Nashville natives, Darek Bell & Andrew Webber. By 2010, Corsair set its marks where it all started, becoming the first craft distillery in Nashville since prohibition. Corsair’s spirits have been praised in publications like Food and Wine, Saveur, Imbibe, Whisky Magazine, Whisky Advocate, the Atlantic, Time Out New York, and Maxim.com. Corsair’s innovative and adventurous spirits have won over 800 medals at national and international spirits competitions.
BELL took an existing 150+ year old facility and transformed it into a useable tasting room, distilling facility, and taproom. Upon completion Corsair’s first Nashville, TN location was born. Utilities, electrical, and domestic water were all upgraded to support both public occupancy and the distilling process. High grade plexiglass was added to replace broken windows without exceeding the client’s budget. The project was especially complex because BELL was tasked with maintaining the historical integrity of the space when ensuring it was safe for patrons and useable for the client. Additionally, Corsair expanded once again in the space incorporating a gift shop, second bar for guest overflow, and adjacent distilling facilities in a property behind the taproom.
As Nashville has grown, Corsair has grown with it expanding greatly since its arrival in 2010. In January 2016, Corsair opened its doors to a second Nashville location, the WeHo Headquarters. Not only did this move create office spaces and more barrel storage, but it allowed for the creation of craft whiskey on a higher production scale. Additionally Corsair is building a distillery just outside of Nashville in Ashland City, TN. BELL is honored to once again serve as the builder of first choice for Corsair Distillery’s projects.
