Thomas McKinley “Mack” Richardson is a Project Manager with BELL Construction’s Heavy Highway/Civil Team. With more than eight years serving in various roles within construction and other related industries, Mack has extensive heavy civil construction knowledge. His previous experience as a Civil Engineer with the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) gives him an intimate understanding of working with governmental agencies like TDOT as well as the standard drawings and specifications required on these projects.

As a Project Engineer, Mack collaborates with construction project managers, superintendents, engineers, architects, subcontractors, suppliers/vendors, and other key team members to help ensure timely progression of the project. His specific responsibilities include:

  • preparing job billings, payments, and budget forecasts
  • performing quantity takeoffs and assisting the estimation team with project cost development
  • updating project schedules and monitoring activities to ensure deadlines are met
  • addressing crew size/staffing and equipment needs
  • monitoring trade partner performance (suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors)
  • negotiating and drafting agreements for purchase orders and subcontracts
  • conducting job site visits to ensure adherence to BELL Construction’s safety and quality standards
