Some details are emerging regarding Metro’s future Permanent Supportive Housing and Downtown Homeless Service Center.
Specifically, Brentwood-based Bell & Associates Construction has been selected as the design-build contractor for project. Other companies to participate include Moody-Nolan, project architect; Catalyst, civil engineering; EMC, structural engineering; ICT, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering; SRMC, security consultants; and EDGE, landscape design.
The building will be located at 505 Second Ave. N. and include at least 100 units of permanent housing and a downtown homeless service center. The facility will provide on-site counseling, basic hygiene and health services, and case management and housing navigation.
The Metro Department of General Services will oversee the project. A rendering has not yet been released.
Bell has provided construction services for Metro’s soon-to-open Downtown Detention Center and Behavioral Care Center, which includes a mental health treatment facility for inmates and rehabilitation programs; Nashville Yards; the AT&T (Batman) Building; Music City Center; First Horizon Park; and Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge, among others.
“Everyone on the BELL team is proud to be involved in this much-needed housing and service center [for] people who are experiencing homelessness,” said Keith Pyle, president of BELL. “Our longstanding industry and community relationships will help ensure the project’s success.”
